Introducing Thunderly: The Story Behind Our Bold Rebrand

Camille Gilvar, Social Media Account Manager at Thunderly.

A year ago, we united two powerhouse agencies—BizCom and Brand J—into a marketing force built to ignite franchise growth and dominate the industry. But let’s be real: the market didn’t see us that way. We were still being put into boxes—PR agency, lead gen agency, video production agency—despite offering the complete package.

It was time to shake things up and dare to be different.

Why We Rebranded

The easy choice would have been to keep one of our existing names or mash them together into some hybrid that tried to please everyone. But that wasn’t good enough.

Both BizCom and Brand J had strong reputations in franchising, but those reputations also created challenges. Each name carried its own legacy, making it hard to unify our teams and present ourselves as one, seamless agency. Internally, we still had “Brand J people” and “BizCom people.” Externally, our clients were still pigeonholing us into the services we’d been known for in the past. No matter how much we told the world we were a full-service marketing agency, they weren’t hearing it.

And here’s the irony—we’ve helped plenty of other brands and franchisors navigate rebrands of their own. We’ve seen firsthand how a fresh identity can redefine a business, break through industry noise, and shift perception. It was time to take our own advice.

So, we needed a fresh start. We needed a name and a brand that truly reflected what we do and who we are. Something bold. Something powerful. Something that made noise.

Introducing: Thunderly.

Why Thunderly?

We didn’t just pull Thunderly out of thin air. It was the result of an intense naming and positioning process, involving our leadership, creative team, and branding experts. We needed a name that captured our essence—our speed, precision, and impact.

Lightning is precise. It strikes exactly where it’s meant to. That’s how we approach marketing. Every move we make is intentional and strategically crafted to deliver results. Thunder makes an impact. It’s loud, impossible to ignore, and demands attention. That’s what we do for our clients. We don’t just whisper into the void—we create dynamic marketing programs with the impact of a nearby lightning strike.

Put them together, and you get Thunderly—a name that embodies everything we stand for: bold, strategic, and impossible to ignore.

Monica Feid, co-founder and COO at Thunderly, shared, “It perfectly captures our strengths—standing out, being heard, and forecasting something bold. It reflects who we are as an agency and what we do for our clients: delivering loud, impactful, and meaningful marketing. From the moment we saw the name, it commanded attention, and we all knew it was the one.”

What This Means for Our Clients

This isn’t just a name change—it’s a statement. Thunderly is a marketing agency built to blast through the clutter and make sure our clients’ voices are heard. We’re not here to play it safe. We’re here to deliver high-impact, full-service marketing solutions that work.

And here’s the best part: you don’t need to juggle multiple agencies, fighting to keep your messaging consistent while chasing approvals and budget sign-offs from every direction. With Thunderly, you get everything and everyone under one roof—PR, lead generation, video production, social media, content marketing, website development, podcast production and more. We have a full toolbox at the ready to build your marketing plan. One agency. One budget. One cohesive strategy.

“We don’t just help brands sell more franchises—we transform them into impactful, recognizable leaders in franchising. It’s not just about generating good leads or securing great PR; it’s about building something bigger, something exciting,” shared Scott White, CEO and co-founder of Thunderly. “Sure, our clients save time and effort by not having to juggle multiple agencies, but more importantly, they get exceptional results. Some may think they need separate specialists for design, lead generation, and PR, but at Thunderly, we deliver that same exceptional level of creativity, strategy, and impact—all from a single, powerful source.”

And let’s be clear—your go-to team isn’t going anywhere. The same experts you’ve trusted for years are still here, delivering the same top-tier strategy and execution you expect. The only difference? Now, they’re even more powerful. By bringing together the best of BizCom and Brand J, we’ve created a seamless, fully integrated team that operates as one. No silos, no handoffs—just a single powerhouse team developing strategies that resonate in a way that engages with your customer.

The Old Way Is Just That—Old

Thunderly is more than just a rebrand. It’s a commitment—to ourselves and to our clients—that we will never settle for mediocrity. We’re here to be bold. To make waves. To deliver results that make people sit up and take notice. We’re loud about meaningful change, and we’re ready to help our clients make their mark.

In short, we’re all in.

How Thunderly Is Redefining What a Franchise Marketing Agency Can Be Scott White, CEO and Co-Founder Turns out there are some exceptions to the old saying that “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” We changed. And things did not stay the same. A year ago this month, we took a bold step that signaled not just a new chapter for our agency and our clients, but a new vision for the future of franchise marketing. We rebranded BizComPR and Brand J, two of the most well-known and successful franchise marketing agencies in the country, under a single, unifying name: Thunderly Marketing. It was a big move and one taken with serious consideration to the potential danger of each agency walking away

What High Growth Brands Get Right About Franchise Development Marketing

Scott White, CEO and Co-Founder  The Data Reveals a Counterintuitive Truth  After analyzing hundreds of franchise brands over the past 30+ years, a remarkable pattern emerges: franchisors experiencing explosive growth in qualified leads and franchise sales aren’t necessarily the ones spending the most money on advertising. They’re the ones operating with a unified marketing approach, where every channel and discipline is aligned and working toward the same growth goals.  Think of your marketing like a puzzle. When each team works on a single piece without seeing the full picture, progress is slow and disjointed. Success comes faster with one team aligned around one strategy and shared goal.  This is now especially true in the rapidly emerging era of AI generated, no-click search. The Siloed Marketing
